Role: Program Lead, Event Production & Community Strategy
Overview
ART& Week is NeueHouse’s annual cultural platform designed to immerse its community in the contemporary art world through dialogue, discovery, and shared experience. Timed around Frieze Week Los Angeles, the multi-day program brought together artists, creators, collectors, and industry leaders for panels, performances, exhibitions, and intimate gatherings centered on themes of feminine leadership, regeneration, and emerging creative voices.
Scope & Impact
Led programming strategy, production, and execution across a multi-day cultural series spanning panels, exhibitions, performances, and community gatherings
Developed experiences that fostered intergenerational dialogue, creative exchange, and inclusive community participation during a major global art moment
Managed end-to-end logistics including run-of-show, speaker coordination, artist needs, installations, audience flow, and on-site execution across multiple formats
Collaborated with cultural partners, media, and sponsors to amplify reach and elevate NeueHouse’s role as a trusted convener within the arts ecosystem
Activated a community experience that blended intellectual discourse, creative expression, and emotional connection
Program Highlights
ART& The Feminine Gaze
Opening ceremony featuring pioneering feminist surrealist Penny Slinger, followed by an intergenerational panel exploring feminine perspectives in contemporary art. The evening concluded with a cocktail reception and live raga performance by Liberate Elemental Forces, creating a multisensory community experience.
ART& The Natural World
Conversation with land art visionaries Lita Albuquerque and Lauren Bon examining how creative expression can reshape our understanding of landscape, environmental consciousness, and collective responsibility.
ART& Changemakers: In Collaboration with the Financial Times
An intimate gathering of 60 women leaders transforming the art world, presented by LAELIA Tequila. The evening featured a special performance by Yrsa Daley-Ward and centered on feminine leadership, creativity, and collective healing through curated conversation and experiential moments.
ART& Regeneration Brunch
A reflective brunch focused on artistry as a tool for healing and community building, featuring artists and cultural leaders including Nao Bustamante, Patrisse Cullors, and Rugiyatou Ylva Jallow. The discussion explored identity, resilience, and the evolving role of art in civic and social life.
ART& The New Garde — “Roots and Realms”
Solo exhibition by Rugiyatou Ylva Jallow, curated by Mashonda Tifrere, exploring cultural identity, belonging, and ancestral connection through bold self-portraiture and intricate mixed-media work.
